Barry Hall's - Byers SR100

This particular car was originally used to race in A modified sports car class in the 1960’s. Car was built on top of a tubular frame and raced on the East coast in the mid 60’s and even made a couple of attempts at the national record for A modified sports car. Although the attempts at record breaking events proved short by a narrow margin , the car did make passes faster then the national record that were unofficial.  In 1966 at an official race a attempt at the record resulted in a run of 10.61 on a 10.48 national record for A Modified sportscar. It is reported that the car made several 10.2 runs at a local track before the record attempt only to fall short on the official day. In 1967 the car was updated with a fresh L88 427 engine with a clutchflight transmission. The car then ran consistently under 10 seconds and its best time that year was 9.80 at 143. The car was raced many times after that only to be sidelined for years when its owner/driver was in a serious automobile accident while on duty as a police officer.
